Plant Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Plant Manager to lead and manage our rubber manufacturing facility located in Ohio.  This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, and personnel management. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in manufacturing leadership, a strong understanding of rubber processing, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the plant, managing a team of approximately 60 production employees.
• Ensure efficient and safe manufacturing processes that meet quality standards, production schedules, and customer requirements.
• Lead and mentor plant supervisors and production staff; foster a positive, high-performance work culture.
• Manage plant staffing, in coordination with HR, including hiring, training, scheduling, counseling, and performance reviews.
• Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, safety, cost, and delivery.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and/or other methodologies.
• Develop and manage plant budget, including labor, materials, maintenance, and capital expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, quality, and HR to meet company goals.
• Create a positive work culture among production and office staff
• Report on plant performance to senior leadership and recommend needed improvements and strategic actions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing; experience in rubber or polymer processing strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of production planning, quality systems, maintenance, and safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a production environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement tools is a plus.
