Essential Functions

This position will carry out tasks in our manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing employees that are working in the extrusion area and mill room to ensure they are operating equipment in an efficient, safe, and quality manner.

Responsibilities 

  • Ensure that all operators are following all standard operating procedures in areas of responsibility.
  • Organizing and directing team members to align with production needs and goals.
  • Prepare reports on performance and progress and present them to senior managers.
  • Participate in daily leadership team meetings being prepared to discuss the area by compiling, initiating, sorting and analyzing production performance and data, and answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Ensuring that the paperwork on production is completed in a timely, accurate and neat manner.
  • Help to establish and communicate expectations on production, quality and scrap for operators.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained and that safe practices are always followed.
  • Investigate and report out any quality issues found in the area.
  • Participate in any disciplinary action or employee relation issues as required by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending actions.
  • Complete inventory process as required and ensure accuracy of the data.
  • Oversee the setup of extruders to minimize downtime.
  • Accommodate and schedule regular and preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Perform all job responsibilities within Extrusion and Mill Room departments as noted on checklist.
  • Train new employees the proper procedures within the department.

Requirements 

  • 2+ years’ experience of working as a Production Supervisor or similar position
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Additional degree in Engineering or other related field will be a plus
  • Ability to move / lift 50 lbs.
  • Strong organization and leadership skills together with a results driven approach
  • Understand cure process and complete all checks
  • Must be able to organize and set a plan for work in areas of responsibility 
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Ability to read prints and measure hoses parts with caliper and tape measure
  • Ability to lead a team with solid communication skills
  • Self-motivated and efficient problem solver
  • Able to work on feet for extended periods of time
  • Must work overtime as required
  • Work environment impacted by local temperature variations (hot & cold) with minimal temperature control
  • Must follow all safety procedures
  • All other job duties as assigned
